IML systems

IML, In-Mold Labeling, is the technology used to apply pre-printed labels to a plastic product, integrating them as part of the product itself. To achieve this, labels are automatically picked up and inserted into the mold before injection, where they must adhere without shifting.
Our IML systems ensure precise and secure placement of labels, whether single or multiple. Based on the client’s requirements and needs, Dal Maschio designs and manufactures all customizations needed to create an IML system: electrostatic sponge mandrels, part and label handling devices, and custom-shaped label support templates.

Robotic hands - EOAT for IML

For In-Mold Labeling (IML) applications, special grippers are used for transferring and inserting labels into the mold. These EOAT (End-of-Arm Tooling) must precisely replicate the shape of the mold, hold the label in place via a vacuum circuit, and then make it adhere to the mold through the application of an electrostatic charge.

Robotic grippers can be made in all necessary shapes, for single or multiple cavities.
